Dénutrition et CANCER

Malnutrition is a very frequent cancer related condition and is all too often underestimated.
And yet it is responsible for increased morbidity, particularly infections, and mortality: 5 to 20% of cancer patients appear to die directly from malnutrition in the terminal phases of cancer. It is also associated with a quality of life deterioration. Finally, it is recognised as a poor response factor to chemo-therapy which toxicity is increased.*
For over 20 years, Jacques-Philippe Moulinoux, the director of the Groupe de Recherche en Thérapeutique Anticancéreuse (GRETAC), has been focusing more specifically on the nutritional aspect of cancer and, in particular, the role of polyamines.
NUTRIALYS MEDICAL NUTRITION, which arose out of this research, is the first laboratory to develop nutritional formulas with a low polyamine content which are capable of meeting the nutritional needs of malnourished cancer patients, while at the same time limiting the exogenous intake of polyamines.
